Coolest Projects USA was a Success!

Several of our kids presented their projects at Coolest Projects USA.  Julia and Alex Macron won in the Visual Programming Category with their game "Bright Destiny."  The future is bright for these future game designers.

CoderDojo Austin is going to this year's Coolest Projects USA and bringing two teams in two different categories, Scratch Programs and Games. Cheer us on in Orange County, California on March 23, 2019.

The 'Hour of Code™' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week [csedweek.org] and Code.org [code.org] to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.

Kano has created a special program called "Pixel Hack" for CoderDojo to use during Hour of Code.  We'll learn how to hack classic video games like Pong and Tetris. Students can work in groups or on their own and are encouraged to continue at home.


New Logo Contest

Attention Coding Ninjas!

Starting Friday December 11, we will start accepting designs for our CoderDojo Austin Logo Contest.  The contest is open to any student from the age of 7-17, they do not need to be a current CoderDojo Austin member.  All participants will be recognized with a certificate of participation.  The top 3 designs will be picked by CoderDojo Austin mentors and recognized on the website. 

Prizes will be awarded for:
Honorable Mention
will receive a CoderDojo Sticker + T-Shirt with new logo

Runner-Up
will receive a CoderDojo Sticker + T-Shirt with new logo + CoderDojo USB White Belt

Contest Winner
will receive a CoderDojo Sticker + T-Shirt with new logo + CoderDojo USB White Belt + Raspberry Pi 2

Guidelines and Contest Rules:
  • Participants must adhere to the CoderDojo Brand Guidelines to be recognized as a participant.
  • Participants must be between the ages of 7-17
  • Only one design per participant can be submitted
  • Design must be submitted via email to austintexas.us@coderdojo.com
  • Logo must be submitted in .png or .svg format
  • Contest closes on Dec 31, 2015.  Winners will be announced on January 8, 2016
